The owl crate narrator
Never inked a word
Words never spoke
Or wrote themselves -
Intangible
Verse-like knots
And crates were always full and bludgeoned
I offered up my life like wrapped up bacon in a crabber’s net, priced in kohl, hanging over the edge of the pier.

Text drowned in a paper bag, that would never hold penny chews, with a hole at each end.

And pebble dashed grey houses stood erect like cheap tombstones to the
living.
​
People looked like mourners at their own
funerals.
​
And Chekhov appeared
pleased.

Bio
Nix Moretta was born in Lancashire in 1971. She has experienced careers in the military, farming and equestrianism, education, and the Civil Service.
​
Her love of literature, nature, and the arts has remained a constant since childhood, and Nix now sees herself in an exciting, creative, and enlightened period.
​
She works currently within education, lecturing mostly in English Literature, with a deep love of the neo-classical, and romantic poetic eras.
​
Nix also runs inclusive creative writing workshops, helping to enable others to discover their own poetic voice.
​
Nix is also pleased to be working in collaboration with The Eternity Tree Limited. Their unique urn turns your loved one's ashes into trees for balconies, or gardens. They have also recently set up 'The Eternity Grief Network,' giving access to grief counsellors, and life coaches all over the country.
​
What a beautiful way to honour, and remember your loved ones, and a wonderful idea to increase sustainability.

Nix's poetry has been described as akin to walking through a dream in a cosmic landscape; a surreal existence, and experience for all of the senses. Therefore, in partnership with The Eternity Tree, Nix can create a bespoke eulogy poem in memory of your friends, family members, and pets, whom have passed on.
